jOB dESCRIPTION
ViaSun Corporation is seeking an Operator to join our rapidly growing team. This
position is responsible for operating various types of construction equipment.
Essential FUNCTIONS
-
Operating hand wheels, levers, and depresses pedals to drive machines and
control attachments, such as blades, buckets, scrapers, loaders, backhoes,
Gannon, rollers, compactors, dozers, excavators and swing booms. -
Grading or redistributing earth, aggregates, or materials for the construction or
repair of structures and roads. -
Operating GPS and laser leveling machine to regulate elevation and angle of
slopes performing rough grading. -
Fastening attachments or accessories to equipment and aligning depth gauge
marker with reference stakes and guidelines on ground or positioning equipment
following hand signals. -
Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure the machine is working
properly. -
Inspecting equipment for deficiencies, such as tires, lights, brakes, fuses and fluid
levels, and submits report indicating equipment condition. -
Reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, survey markers and stakes.

Signaling directions and warnings to coworkers.

Adhering to all ViaSun safety policies, procedures.

Takes pride in craftsmanship, works within precise standards of accuracy.

Prioritizes work to meet goals or deadlines.

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Hard hat, safety glasses,
safety vest, boots, seat belt, gloves, etc. -
Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent any and all
unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed. -
Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and
customers. -
Keeps equipment clean and practice good housekeeping.

Will assist the ground crew, when not operating equipment.

Performing other duties as required and assigned.
jOB rEQUIREMENTS
-
Working knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and
other techniques for maximizing the effective construction or repair of structures
and roads. -
Working knowledge on judging soil conditions, distances, and proper slopes with
accuracy. -
Knowledge and understanding of load charts, lifting capabilities, and Blue Stake
markings. -
Must be able and willing to travel to all jobsites.

Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.

Current Arizona Driver’s License with clean driving record.
-
Must possess or able to acquire a DOT Medical card.

wORK eNVIRONMENT
This job operates in an outdoor environment which is subject to weather conditions and the elements.
education + experience
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Minimum of 5 years of experience operating an excavator, finish blade, dozer,
loader, backhoe, Gannon, scraper and self-propelled compactor. -
Two (2) years’ experience with TopCon GPS.
physical REQUIREMENTS
-
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and climb all day on your feet for long periods of time.

Must be able to frequently lift or move items up to 75 pounds.
-
Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
-
Exposed to a variety of extreme cold and hot weather conditions.
